Clear Information, Practical Plans

As a parent, all you want are clear answers and a plan you can trust to support your child.

I work with children and young adults and their families to understand learning, attention, and executive functioning challenges and to create concrete plans for support at school and at home. At EmpowerED, my focus is on comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs), consultation and IEP support, as well as one‑on‑one executive functioning coaching.

I often help with:

Questions about learning, attention, or social/emotional development

Clarifying confusing or mixed messages from school evaluations

Executive functioning needs, such as planning, organization, and follow-through

Navigating IEP or 504 processes and next steps

Psychoeducational Evaluations
Independent Educational
Evaluations (IEEs)
IEP Consulting & School Meeting Support
Executive Function Coaching

Comprehensive Evaluations That See The Whole Child

My approach to assessment is thorough and collaborative. I do not look only at test scores or a single setting. Instead, I aim to understand the whole child: their strengths, areas of need, history, and day‑to‑day experience at school and at home.

When we work together on an evaluation, you can expect that I will:

Gather information from multiple sources, including caregivers, teachers, and records
Look carefully at cognitive, academic, and executive functioning skills
Explain findings in clear, understandable language
Work with you and, when appropriate, school teams to connect results to specific support strategies

The goal is not just a report, but a shared understanding of what is going on and a set of targeted, realistic recommendations you can use in real classrooms and real life.

Supporting Diverse Learners And Underserved Communities

Over the years, I have worked with children from kindergarten through age 22, including those in adult transition programs. A great deal of my time has been spent supporting middle and high school children as academic and executive functioning demands increase.

My experience includes:

Children from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds
Diverse school communities
Underserved communities and families experiencing significant socioeconomic challenges
A big part of my role is helping children, families, and school staff better identify and understand each child’s needs and disabilities so that the tools and support strategies implemented can be more focused and effective. I value working in partnership with families and schools to make sure children are seen accurately and given opportunities to thrive.
